Gutters

I watched the workers make the seamless gutters in the bitter cold. The crew arrived, they pulled off the old ones and the new ones oozed out of the back of the truck onto the front yard--almost reaching to Taft! The job was finished in record time and now I can't wait to have spring rains to test them out.

Starting Small

We planted the trees Mom and Dad gave us. I like imagining how they will grow to be as tall as the trees that had to be taken out. The tiny bookends will witness the story of our home as it changes over time.

Historically Obsessed

I was sad to leave behind my historic home in Kalamazoo. The charm of the story and significant history made that house completely unique. My mourning for my previous residence is slightly mollified by the fact that I now share A's historic Sears Roebuck Catalog house. Say hello to The Hamilton!

Fond Memories

As I drove past my first house one last time in the moving truck, I can't help but hope the new owners will care for it and respect it as much as I did. I am fortunate to have been a caretaker of such an important part of history, even if it was for just a short time.
